THE IDEA
The Front Room is a proposed neighborhood membership work club in the Southfield–Lathrup Village area. Think proper work tables, a quiet room, space for calls and clients, and a separate room to bring people together. Comfortable luxury, with a welcome you can feel. Rooted in Black hospitality. Open to neighbors of every background.
A GOOD DAY, WITH ROOM FOR ALL OF IT
Comfortable seats. Proper work tables. Coffee and tea. A place where you can find your rhythm without having to buy another drink.
A separate quiet area and bookable call spaces make room for different kinds of work. Client meetings get a proper place, too.
A separately booked event room for a team day, a workshop, or a gathering. Thoughtfully hosted, without taking over the work club.

FRONT ROOM SOCIETY
They might be across the table. Front Room Society is the free community around the club: shared meals, work sessions, game nights, and introductions that have a reason.
Good company. No cold introductions.

Not yet. We are testing the idea and evaluating a first location in the Southfield–Lathrup Village area. No opening date or final address is being announced here.
No. Independent professionals, remote and hybrid workers, people building something on the side, and neighbors are welcome. The paid club is designed for people who need a regular place to work.
Absolutely. The Society is free to join, and selected events will be ticketed separately. It does not include daily access to the work club.
The plan calls for a separate event room and acoustic separation. Protecting the everyday work experience is a requirement in our property evaluation.
No. This is an expression of interest. We are not collecting membership payments, deposits, or binding reservations.
If this sounds like a place you would actually use, help us get it right. Three minutes of honest feedback matter more than a polite “love the idea.”
